Types of Countdown Timer

What are the new countdown timer types?

We've introduced three new countdown timer options:

  1. Countdown to a date: This timer counts down to a specific date and time. It's the same for all visitors and is perfect for scheduled events.

  2. Fixed minutes: This timer starts a personalized countdown for each visitor when they land on your site or perform a specific action.

  3. Daily recurring timer: This timer automatically resets after each cycle (e.g., daily or weekly), encouraging customers to return regularly.

To customize the countdown timer blocks, you have to install and add the countdown timer sections first

1. Countdown To A Date

  • Start date: This optional field determines when the countdown timer becomes visible. If a start date is set, the timer will only appear on your site once that date and time have been reached. The format is YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM. (For example: 2025-09-26 12:00)

  • End date: This required field sets the target date and time for the countdown. The timer will count down the remaining time until this point. The format is YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM. (For example: 2025-09-27 12:00)

  • Time zone: This setting ensures the countdown is accurate for your target audience by allowing you to select the appropriate time zone for the start and end dates.

  • Number size: You can adjust the size of the numbers in the countdown timer. The available options are Extra Small (XS), Small (S), Medium (M), and Large (L).

  • Countdown style: This option allows you to choose the visual design of the countdown timer.

  • Hide countdown when time expires: This is a toggle switch. When enabled, the countdown timer will be hidden from view after it has finished counting down. If disabled, the timer will remain visible, likely at zero.

2. Fixed Minutes

  • Minutes: This field determines the duration of the countdown.

  • Action after countdown ends (on reload): This crucial setting controls what happens if a visitor reloads the page after their timer has expired. You can choose from three behaviors:

    • Repeat the countdown: The timer will restart from the beginning for the visitor. This is useful if you want to give every session a fresh sense of urgency.

    • Hide countdown and message: Both the timer and the expired message will disappear completely.

    • Show expired message: The timer will not reappear, but the message you've written for when the time runs out will be permanently displayed to that visitor.

  • Paragraph: This is a rich text editor where you can craft the message that will be displayed once the countdown reaches zero.

  • Message size: This option controls the font size of the expired message.

  • Message color: This allows you to set the color of the expired message text to match your site's branding.

  • Number size: Similar to the message size, this lets you adjust the size of the numbers in the countdown timer itself, with options ranging from XS to L.

  • Countdown style: This dropdown allows you to select the visual design of the timer.

3. Daily Recurring Timer

  • Weekday: This field lets you specify which days of the week the timer should be active. You can enter one or more days, separated by commas (e.g., "SAT,SUN" for a weekend sale, or "MON,TUE,WED,THU,FRI" for weekdays).

  • Start date: This optional field determines the first date the entire recurring schedule will begin.

  • End date: This optional field sets the last possible date for the recurring timer. After this date, the timer will no longer appear, even on the specified weekdays.

  • Start time: This required field sets the time of day when the countdown will begin on the active days. The format is HH:MM.

  • End time: This required field sets the time of day when the countdown for that cycle will end. The format is HH:MM.

  • Action after countdown ends (on reload): This controls what a visitor sees if they reload the page after the daily countdown has finished but before the next one starts.

  • Paragraph: This is a rich text editor where you can write the message that appears after the countdown for a cycle has ended

  • Message size: This controls the font size of the expired message, with options from Extra Small (XS) to Large (L).

  • Message color: This allows you to set the color of the expired message text.

  • Time zone: This is a crucial setting to ensure the timer starts and ends accurately according to your target audience's location

  • Number size: This adjusts the size of the numbers within the countdown timer itself.

  • Countdown style: This dropdown lets you choose the visual design of the timer
